VA/MD Intern Develops WIC Garden
Christina Test, an intern in the VA/MD WIC Internship (left) initiated a very
successful community garden for clients of the Winchester WIC program for
her community project.

Sodexo Distance Dietetic Internship
Lisa Muras, of Fairfax, is a new intern with the Sodexo Distance Dietetic Internship. She completed her Didactic Program in Dietetics at the University of Northern Colorado.

- Neda Kashanian is from Fairfax, Virginia and graduated from James Madison University with a BS in Dietetics in 2011. She claims two amazing parents and one incredible younger sister who is a student at Virginia Tech. Her father is Iranian and mother is half Iranian and half Greek and both graduated from the U. of Maryland. Her interest include being outside, the ocean, sunshine, camping, traveling, hiking, soccer, triathlons, cooking, reading, dancing, laughing, and picnics!
- Jamie Jerabek is from Midlothian, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2011 with a BS in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise, with a concentration in Dietetics. She hopes to find her niche in the field of dietetics through the various rotations of the Virginia State U. dietetic internship!
- Kaitlin Coffey is from Beaverton, Oregon, just outside of Portland, Oregon and graduated in June from Oregon State U. She hopes to become a registered dietitian and work to educate children in a community setting in order to prevent obesity and its health related problems.
- Jacqueline Barnwell is from Manassas Virginia and a graduate of James Madison U. Her career goals include working in community and public health nutrition.
- Jaclyn Dickriede is from Woodbridge, Virginia and graduated in 2008 from James Madison U.with a BS in Dietetics. She has worked with the WIC program in Springfield, Virginia as a Nutritionist Assistant and then moved to Manteo, North Carolina where she was a WIC Nutritionist. She has been an active member of the American Dietetic Association since her undergraduate years and is looking forward to her internship with Virginia State U.!
- Brittany Wood is from Newport News, Virginia and she graduated in May 2011 from James Madison U. with a B.S. in Dietetics. During her time at JMU she was involved with local hospital where she helped the dietitians create educational materials. She also created diabetic meal planning sheets for dietitians to use at a hospital in Hampton, Virginia.
- Leigh Monahan is from the small farm town of Waverly, Virginia and received her B.S degree in Dietetics from James Madison U. in 2011. She currently works part time at Plantation Peanuts of Wakefield, Va.
- Rachel Duque is from Fostoria, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State U. in Columbus, Ohio in 2009. She then became a Dietetic Technician, Registered and worked as a Diet Tech both at a retirement community and within the Ohio Prison and Rehabilitation System.
