Nominating individuals for awards through VAND is vital to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of emerging and active professionals in our field. These awards not only honor individual achievements but also inspire others to strive for excellence in nutrition and dietetics. Key Dates & Eligibility

• Deadline for all submissions: January 30, 2026 (Deadline extended through FEB 7, 2026)

• Eligibility: All nominees must be active members of both the Academy and VAND by January 1, 2026; additional criteria may apply.

• Submission:

  • Award nominations should be submitted to the nominee’s local district/region for Board review

  • Scholarship applications must be submitted directly by the applicant via the online form

VAND Awards

VAND offers six annual awards.  Descriptions and eligibility criteria for each award, as defined by the Academy, are available through this link. Each District/Region Board may submit one nomination per award category for eligible VAND members. In addition, all VAND members are encouraged to recommend qualified individuals—including themselves—directly to their District/Regional Board for consideration.

• Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (RYDY)
