ABOUT THE POSITION Provide virtual medical nutrition therapy and weight management support to pediatric and young adult patients with endocrine disorders, while collaborating closely with pediatric endocrinologists and a multidisciplinary care team. RESPONSIBILITIES · Deliver intensive nutrition counseling and weight management education via video visits and secure digital communication via phone, video, chat, text, and email. · Support patients receiving anti-obesity medications or other endocrine therapies under physician supervision, including education on treatment expectations, adherence, and monitoring. · Participate in remote patient monitoring workflows, reviewing data from connected devices such as scales, blood glucose meters, and CGMs when appropriate. · Reinforce physician-directed care plans and collaborate closely with pediatric endocrinologists to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care. · Utilize motivational interviewing and evidence-based behavior change techniques to support sustainable lifestyle improvements. · Quickly establish rapport and therapeutic alliances with children, adolescents, and caregivers from diverse backgrounds. · Conduct virtual group education or coaching sessions, as needed. · Provide follow-up support through scheduled visits and asynchronous communication. · Document all assessments, care plans, and follow-up encounters accurately and in a timely manner within the EMR. · Contribute feedback to improve telehealth workflows, patient experience, and care delivery processes. · Stay current with best practices in pediatric nutrition, obesity management, and telehealth care. QUALIFICATIONS · Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. · Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). · Willingness and ability to add state licenses as needed to support member coverage. · At least 2 years of experience working as a registered dietitian with a pediatric endocrine or obesity clinic. · HIPAA-friendly workspace with high-speed internet for secure patient conversations. · Comfort with advanced technology, including electronic medical records and various digital tools. · Demonstrated ability to adapt communication techniques to meet the needs of a diverse patient population. · Must reside in the United States. · Flexible schedule and availability to provide services for up to 20 hours per week, including evenings and Saturdays.
