ABOUT US UVA Health's brand new Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) and Hypermobility Center opened in December 2025. This is a very unique opportunity to be a part of a Center of Excellence in EDS care. The position will primarily consist of one-on-one outpatient care to support patients with nutrition concerns including gastroparesis, POTS, disordered eating, ARFID, IBS, malabsorption, food intolerances, and malnutrition. A small volume of patients also require enteral nutrition support. The ideal candidate has a love for complex clinical cases, GI nutrition, and team collaboration. This is predominantly a remote role. ABOUT THE POSITION • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or CDR exam eligible • Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable • Healthcare experience preferred—new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply RESPONSIBILITIES Join a talented group of dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675 bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system which values ongoing training and education. RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Nutrition: --Manages clinical nutrition system to ensure optimum nutrition for all residents. --Interviews new admissions. --Develops initial nutritional care plans and reviews them quarterly. --Attends resident care conferences. --Ensures that all areas in the care plan are being carried through. Food Service Operations: --Has a basic understanding of operations of the Food Service Department. --Knowledgeable of budget controls, personnel actions, quality food production, sanitation, safety and nutritional care, hiring, terminations, orientating, training, and counseling of department employees and work schedules. --Role is to support the Food Service Director when necessary. Data Entry: --Enter all budget figures, menus, nutritional information and dietary notes. --Trains Dietary Service Program Assistant in entering budget figures, menus, resident care and dietary notes. Purchasing: --Works with the Food Service Director in purchasing, production and service of food in a timely manner. --Assists in purchasing supplies and equipment. Other Duties: --Residents are PVCC’s first priority in comparison to all other assigned duties regardless of your job role. --Performs other duties as may be assigned that are within Dietary department’s mission and as situations warrant in meeting the overall needs of the facility. --May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Dietetics. Certified Dietary Manager required. Driver’s License required.
